Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
