The star has given the full amount of his £25k honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to save the Britain's small live music spots.
He was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his latest record his work was named the outstanding release of the last 12 months.
The musician has chosen to give the cash to the trust, in appreciation of the vital role small stages had in his early career.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing this success if it weren't for all the performances I performed around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," stated Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – about one-sixth of the entire UK sector.
Over the past year, well-known musicians including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to support the industry, by including a small levy to their admission fees, which goes to help local stages.
Fender also joined in, generating in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to help 38 local spots across Britain.
These funds supported spaces that were confronting imminent closure due to challenges arising from flooding, fires and bereavements, as well as permit problems, court cases and neighbor objections.
Some locations were granted monetary aid in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that helped musicians and audiences.
"The idea that revenue from shows in major spaces supports the local stages, where it begins for artists like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has stated.
He is not the first artist to give his award prize money to worthy causes.
In the band received the trophy in the mid-90s for their release their work, vocalist Jarvis Cocker stated that the band would donate their prize money to the non-profit the charity.
In 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite split her prize among a few charities, including the children's charity and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics program, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite shared with outlets.
Two years ago, the band contributed their funds to the community center that supported their act, alongside other local music groups.
Additionally 1994 winners M People contributed their prize to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was diagnosed the illness.
"The victory was sufficient," stated singer the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we could do without the extra, because we had the cake. So our success touched somebody else's life."
Last week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had saved a couple of local spots in south-east England, by bringing them into public stewardship.
One venue in that area and the second in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who acquire "shares" in the buildings.
