The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song features a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative said. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was characterized as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of property described as destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is first of all raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
