England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
